Jeff Jakus, Figjam owner and managing partner, is retired from the technology and hospitality industries. Jeff’s software company, @Better Results, Inc. specialized in ad hoc government reporting solutions and hospitality applications, including our proprietary Wine Club Software (Just My Wine) and Customer Retention Software (RetenXion). Better Results installed their software solutions in 100’s of sites throughout the US. The following are a few highlights of his hospitality experience:
Going back to around 2005, Jeff met the founder of the SD Wine & Culinary Center, John Alonge’, and started consulting on the software needs of the new venture. After installing the Better Results club management solution RetenXion, Jeff continued consulting with the center and eventually partnered with John on another business venture called The Wine Heretic - providing corporate team building events in and around San Diego reaching to Palm Springs and to the Hotel Del Coronado.
Jolt’n Joes
Jeff was hired on as a consultant at this very large Gaslamp area restaurant, pool hall, bar and event center. Many events were hosted here including various uses during Comic Con and as an exotic headquarters for Hollywood stars. Consulting responsibilities included staff hiring and training, menu development, streamlining accounting systems, vendor relationships, event marketing and more.
The French Gourmet
Michel Malecot’, the owner of the famed French Gourmet, hired Johh Alonge’ and Jeff to organize, inventory, price and market his huge wine collection that had been accumulated over many years. This relationship migrated into also working to modernize their catering and event production solutions, including working closely with the catering, marketing and event production sales team. Responsibilities included: team building, marketing, staffing, branding, wine sales and more.
